Council of Europe news

On 9 October 2019, the CEPEJ carried out a mission to Baku to develop a roadmap on disseminating the CEPEJ tools in all courts of Azerbaijan.

As a part of the mission, the CEPEJ delegation held meetings with the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan and five pilot courts of the previous phase of the project (Sumgayit Court of Appeal, Sheki Court of Appeal, Sumgayit Administrative-Economic Court, Yasamal district court and Oguz district court). During the discussions the national partners shared information on the implementation of the CEPEJ tools in the pilot courts with the CEPEJ team in order to identify the steps in further dissemination of the CEPEJ tools in all courts of Azerbaijan.

The activity was organised in the framework of the CEPEJ cooperation project “Strengthening the efficiency and quality of the judicial system in Azerbaijan” under the Partnership for Good Governance II (PGGII), which is funded jointly by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
