The regular meeting with participation of the Azerbaijan Think Tanks and Civil Society Network members was held yesterday. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this time again the meeting was held through the “Zoom” online platform .
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss Azerbaijan’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic area in the field of defense and security, prospects for cooperation of civil society institutions with government agencies, the experience of member NGOs in this field, the next steps, and other issues were discussed.
At the meeting, one of the founders of the Network, a representative of the Online Media Group, military analyst Ramil Mammadli made a presentation on the topic and shared his views on the history of Azerbaijan’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic area, studying the experience of European countries, current situation and future forecasting.
One of the founders of the Network – Ramil Iskandarli informed about the Partnership Priorities signed between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
Elmari Mamishov, Deputy Chairman of the Legal Analysis and Research Public Union, Ismayil Karimov, Research expert, Fadil Pashayev, co-founder of the Online Media Group, Shakir Safarbekov, the lawyer, Subhan Talibli, historian, Kamala Ashumova, Director of the Reliable Future Youth Organization, and Mehriban Zeynalova, Head of the “Pure World” organization attended the meeting and hed discussions on the topic.
The participants of the meeting agreed to publish a collection of articles, research and analysis of the Network members 2-4 times a year. At the same time, it was considered expedient to propose to the state bodies the establishment of research centers in the field of defense, army, security and law enforcement.
The main aim of the Azerbaijan Think Tanks and Civil Society Network, founded last year in January is mobilizing capacity of organizations and professionals operating in various fields in Azerbaijan to support implementation of public policy in this area by means of analytical and research work focused on the country’s development in these fields.
