Starting form April of 2023, the “Annual Report on the Juvenile Justice System in Azerbaijan” project is being implemented by the “Legal Analysis and Research” Public Union within the project “Protecting human rights of vulnerable groups in Azerbaijan” implemented by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights with the financial support of the European Union.
The main goal of the project is to contribute to the development of access to justice for juveniles in Azerbaijan. To achieve the goal of the project the activities will be conducted for increasing the knowledge and skills of representatives of state institutions and non-governmental organizations working in the field of juvenile justice in Azerbaijan in relation to international standards and approaches, comparative analysis of international and national legislation and practice on the basis of the Kyoto Declaration and the UN Beijing Rules for the Administration of the Juvenile Justice aimed at strengthening efforts to combat crimes, acquaintance with child-friendly mechanisms in justice and law enforcement agencies, preparation of public “round table” discussions and proposals in the field of strengthening inter-institutional and civil society cooperation in the juvenile justice system.
At the end of the current year, “Legal Analysis and Research” Public Union will prepare the “Annual Report on the Juvenile Justice System in Azerbaijan” as the conclusion of the project.
