Medvedev: “Settlement of Karabakh conflict should be discussed with Turkey”

“The settlement of Karabakh conflict should be discussed with Turkey. This is the reality of the region,” Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with local mass media, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

“Turkey is our neighbor and very important partner. It is a very close country to Azerbaijan. It is impossible not to take into account this fact,” said D. Medvedev in response to the question on the role of Turkey in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

According to him, a productive dialogue has been made between Moscow and Ankara, the presidents of both countries have conducted regular negotiations regarding this subject: “The decision has been made on the establishment of special monitoring center consisting of Turkish and Russian servicemen. This is the element of general stabilizing. But, I would not evaluate this as an element of long-term policy, or I would not build one of the conspiracy theories here. We have to just take into consideration of the existing realities in the region, and the realities are that today this issue should be discussed with the Turkish partners.” APA.az
