Baku hosted international conference on 75th anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights UDHR), the blueprint for human rights and freedoms. In the eve of the global meeting in Geneva to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the UDHR, United Nations Azerbaijan in a partnership with the Ombudsperson of the Azerbaijan and Bar Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan, organized an international conference on the theme “Human Rights – 75 Baku Conference: Promoting universality and indivisibility to address global and national challenges” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The conference brought together representatives of public institutions, international organizations and civil society institutions.

Mr. Ramil Iskandarli – the Chairman of the Legal Analysis and Research Public Union had a speech as a speaker at the panel discussions on “The role of the civil society in broadening tools and methodologies to promote and respect human rights”. The Conference provided an opportunity for representatives from governmental institutions, civil society and organizations to discuss the diversity, strengths and achivements of human rights initiatives aimed at addressing today’s global and national challenges.
