The Ombudsperson Opened New Office of South Regional Center

The opening ceremony of the Southern Regional Center of the Ombudsman was held in Masalli “ASAN Hayat” Complex with the participation of representatives of state institutions, international organizations, and civil society organizations (SCOs).

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva made an opening speech, outlining the 20-year activity of the Ombudsman institution in Azerbaijan, which is being active in the protection of human rights.

Ms. Aliyeva also pointed out that within the framework of the “Advanced judicial services and modern judicial infrastructure” Project, the Government of Azerbaijan and the World Bank jointly  supported the Ombudsman’s Office to strengthen its institutional capabilities.

During the speech, it was mentioned that innovative e-services available in the South Regional Center will ease prompt consideration and on-site investigation of citizens’ appeals from Masalli and surrounding districts and expand the reception facilities of the Ombudsman. South Regional Center in Masalli “ASAN” Life Complex will provide an opportunity to resolve applicants’ requests for legal documentation and other human rights issues.

The Ombudsman emphasized that all these activities are for ensuring citizen satisfaction as a core element of the state policy.

After the opening ceremony, Ombudsman held a meeting with representatives of state institutions and CSOs attended the event.
